Raquel Peña deejays as Raquiqui, mixing and blending vinyl records + digital music.
Raquel uses she/her/they/them pronouns and identifies as a Tejana with deep roots in West Texas for generations well beyond the year 1845.
Raquel’s Tejana roots are evident in her vinyl collection and mixes where you’ll experience a rich history of music in all genres including Tejano, cumbia, banda, conjunto, salsa, reggaeton, rock, soul, r&b, funk, house, y más.
Raquiqui’s 10+ years of experience working in radio is relative to her tastemaker status. Not only does she DJ solo, you can find her DJing alongside her comadres in Chulita Vinyl Club, Queer Vinyl Collective, and Hot Moon Vinyl.
Besides working in radio, Raquel’s experience in entertainment expands to 20+ combined years of entertainment marking, event production, tour production, and production management in North America, EU, and UK. This breadth of experience has enabled Raquel to tour and produce shows all over the world.
